We also came from Austria, Ireland, Scotland, Hungary, Germany, and England. Traditionally, the last name can tell a lot about your heritage. The last name often told where you came from and the class of your family. We haven’t kept that tradition; and so it isn’t as easy to tell much about a person from their last name these days. |

Our McArthur connection is through the Burwell-Chek line Our
research has only just begun. We continue to research our Genealogy
Information, which is not complete and may not be 100% accurate as yet. We
are currently attempting to confirm the information and continue the
research. Our McArthur family is from Ireland. McArthur is my mother’s side of the
family. McMurtrie
is my father’s side of family. Both
are Irish! I never knew how much Irish
we had before I started this research. My father’s side also has a lot
Hungarian! Chauncey definitely sounds Irish.
