attended, picnic lunch served at noon, same officers one more year. Mrs. Nemire reminded everyone that there
are more family histories available if anyone needs more. Both officers asked
that if anyone had corrections or additions for the book to have them turned
in by Aug. 15, 1964 after which time corrections sheets will be made and
mailed to all having books. Those

August 22, 1965, in the park at North Baltimore,
in Shelter House #1. There were 86 in
attendance. A covered dish lunch was
served at 1:00. Edward Burwell of
Leipsic elected President, Mrs. Harry Eninger of North Baltimore as
Secy-Treas. Mrs. Nemire reported that
there are still Family Histories available and that all Births, Deaths and
Marriages are still to be turned in.

Baltimore, Ohio, cafeteria style lunch served about 12:30; 60 registered in attendance, President Bob
Rayle; Harry Eninger made a motion to take up a collection; motion seconded
by Nellie Rayle; Betty Rayle declined her office as Secy-Treas. Nellie Rayle
agreed to take her place. Amza Nemire

North Baltimore City Park, cafeteria style lunch served at 12:45; 68 were present. Leo Alt elected president; Pat Edwards,
Secretary-Treasurer. Violet Burwell
introduced Mr. Lawrence Burwell from Lima to the group. We are sorry to have
lost Ray Nemire and Florence A. Burwell this year and Frank Alt. 8.
July 12, 1970, North Baltimore City Park. A Pot-Luck dinner was served at 1:00 with
69 present. This was one more than
last year. President Leo Alt
nominated for another year, Agnes Kirkendall elected new Sec. Treas.. Clifford Burwell, Mary Kessler and John
Miller all ill and unable to attend the reunion 9.

members present. A delicious pot luck
dinner was held at 12:45, It was a
nice day. Mr. Leo Alt was re-elected
President and Mrs. Truman Burkholder elected Secretary-Treasurer. A get well card was signed for Mary K.

was served at 1 P.M. President Leo
Alt, Mrs. Truman Burkholder read the minutes of the 1971 Reunion. Both Mr.
Alt and Mrs. Burkholder were reelected for the next year…A letter from Mrs.
Ruby Stiles Shoals was read. The Anza
Nemires invited everyone to an open house on the occasion of their Golden
Wedding Ann. August 13. Get well
cards were sent to Mel Hoops and Ruth Burwell. 11.
July 9, 1973.
52 members and three guests were present. The small crowd can possibly have been because of the extremely
hot day and farmers being so behind with their work due to a wet spring. Harry Eninger was nominated for
President; Betty Burwell for Secretary & Treasure. The idea of not publishing the Reunion in
the newspapers prior to the date was suggested to so much vandalism during
absences and was unanimously agreed upon. 12.
July 14, 1974, 41 members, called to order by the
president Harry Eninger. A delicious
pot luck dinner was served at 1:00 p.m.
Harry Eninger decided it was time to pass the presidency over to a
Burwell, so Leo Alt nominated Bill Burwell and it was carried
unanimously. Guy Burwell was
nominated for Vice Presidency, Betty Burwell for secretary and treasury. We discussed having the Reunion in 76
held at Leipsic Park being we have a new pool and this would give the young
folks something to do. 13.
July 13,
1975, Shelter House, 55 members and four guests present. Decided to have the reunion here another
year being that the restrooms at the Leipsic Park are out of order. 14.
July 11, 1976, Shelter house #2 at the part in
North Baltimore. Guy Burwell, acting
president called the meeting to order.
There were 60 members and two guests.
We are sorry that one of our members, Joseph Clifford Burwell died
Feb. 13, 1977. President Guy Burwell,

served at 1:00 and was enjoyed by everyone present. 17.

at 12:30 and enjoyed by everyone present. 19.
July 12, 1981 in the North Baltimore City
Park. 57 members present. A potluck was served at 12:30. and enjoyed
by everyone. 20.
July 11, 1982, North Baltimore, Ohio City
Park. Harry Enninger Jr. led the
family in prayer before a buffet style luncheon was enjoyed by all. There were 50 members and guests present. The meeting was conducted by Mike Burwell
and Sec Betty Rayle. Harry Eninger
Sr. had a raffle with two beautiful pillows and a stool, that he and Mary had made. The two lucky winners were Mike Burwell
& Mary Dunbar. Other members had
made items to be auctioned off. It
was a lot of fun and no collection was taken. Martha Sorg and Pat Edwards both volunteered to bring raffle
gifts next year. Homemade ice cream
is to be made in the afternoon. New

July 10, 1983
North Baltimore Park, Shelter House #1. Our president, Steve Burwell said Grace about 12:30 and
everyone enjoyed a delicious and abundant meal. 65 present. The Secy
Treas. Agnes Kirkendall requested that her assistant Kathi Edwards take over
for her. Steve Burwell pres. and Bill
Dunbar, vice pres. were elected for another year. Agnes Kirkendall, secy treas asked to not be put in for another
year since she would be attending a reunion in Kentucky at this time next
year, so Kathy Edwards, the assistant secy treas. was elected and Mrs. Margie
Roberts was elected assistant secy treas.
There was a letter from Leo Alt about corrections for the Burwell
book. 22.
July 8, 1984, North Baltimore Park in Shelter
House #1. 50 members and guests of
the Burwell Family present. Our president – Steve Burwell asked the blessing
at 12:30 and everyone enjoyed the good food and fellowship., Gail Dunbar
announced a new grandchild – Kevin William Patrick, 10 lbs, 8 oz. born June
16, 1984, and another grandchild in September. Bill Dunbar, Vice President was elevated to President, Steve
Burwell for Vice President, Kathy Edwards would take one more year as
Secy-Treas. and Marge Roberts as Assistant Secy-Treas. Deaths during 1985: Tom Barnhizer, Jan 1st,
Anza Nemire, Grace Anne Varonne, May 6 23.
July 14,
1985. The Business Meeting was called
to order at 1:20 P.M. by President Bill Dunbar after everyone had enjoyed an
ample and delicious dinner and a lot of good fellowship. 49 present. New members of our family: Miranda Rose Wade born September 21,
1984, to Dan and Diane Wade and Beverly Elizabeth Sorg was born October 2,
1984 to Kenneth and Martha Sorg.
$36.00 realized from an auction. 24.
July 13, 1986
The Business Meeting was called to order at 1:45 by President Bill
Dunbar after everyone had enjoyed a delicious dinner. 51 present. Four new births and three deaths in the family. Election of officers: President – Steve Burwell; Vice President
– Ed Burwell, Sec.-Treasurer – Marty
Roberts and Assistant Sec-Treasurer Martha Sorg 25.
July 10, 1987 Thirty-eight very hot people
attended the 25th Burwell Reunion at North Baltimore City Park. Attendance was down probably due to the
weather. The business meeting was
opened by President (protem) Ed Burwell who proclaimed “Pray for less heat
next year!” Bill Dunbar will continue
one more year as president. Martha
Sorg automatically moved up to Secretary-treasure for the next 2 years. Additional elections were not held. According to 1987 minutes, Ed Burwell was
elected vice-president and should serve as president this year. 26.

July 12, 1989 North Baltimore City Park, 23 people
were in attendance probably due to the 100° temperature. Potluck dinner was served. The meeting was called to order by Ed
Burwell. The meting was adjourned and
everyone hurried home to cool off. 28.
July 8, 1990.
The business meeting was called to order by President Mary
Eninger. Officers for next year are
President – Mary Eninger;
Vice-President – Don Barnhizer;
Secretary – Emma Jean Hoops. A
Get-Well card was circulated for Kathy Eninger who was not in attendance due
to her recent gall-bladder surgery.
The annual raffle for an afghan crocheted by Mary Eninger, chances
were sold for $1.00 each with a total of $31.00 being collected. Diane Wade held the winning number. There were 39 persons in attendance for
this years’ gathering of the Burwell Clan (give or take a few lively children
who may have been counted twice).

Municipal Park) 33 in attendance.
Martha Sorg to buy a ham and turkey for next year out of funds. Kathleen Edwards seconded. All were in favor. Diane Wade made a motion to have drinks
purchased out of remaining funds.
Emma Jean seconded. All in
favor. A card was circulated to send
to Viola Topp who fell and was injured.
Martha Sorg and Diane Wade suggested that since we’ve been coming here
for 20 odd years that we should make some kind of donation to ‘sanctify the
park.’ It was voted that Mary Sorg
and Don Barnhizer would retain their offices. Diane Wade will be sec.-treas.
The balance in fund is $129.66. 30.
July 12,
1992 After expenses this year’s
reunion were deducted, we had a balance of $118.49. Diane Wade made a motion to donate $50.00 to North Baltimore
City Park for trees. Kathleen Edwards
2nd motion carried. Mary
Eninger was given $50.00 to make the donation on behalf of the Isaac &
Nancy Burwell family. For our meal
next year, Pat Burwell will cook a ham and Gail Dunbar will make Beef &
Noodles. Everyone else will bring a
dish to pass, also. Officers for next
year will be: Ed Burwell, Jr. –
President; Ed Burwell, Sr. Vice President; Diane Wade –
Secretary/Treasurer. Lots of Food,
Fun & Family made for an enjoyable, if hot afternoon. 31.
July 11, 1991
North Baltimore City Park. It
was voted to have the reunion next year on July 10, 1994 at the park in
Shelter house #1. Mary Eninger will
reserve the shelterhouse and complain about the screen and wasp problem. Our donation of $50.00 to the park last
year resulted in new trees being planted by the pond. Election of officers was held. Results were: President: Ed Burwell, Jr.; Vice President: Ed Burwell, Sr.,
Secretary/Treasurer: Marta Sorg. Pat
Burwell volunteered to bring a ham next year – she will be reminded. Births & marriages were recorded. Relatives were reminded to keep the secretary
updated on address changes. The
annual auction was held and everyone spent a pleasant afternoon
together. 32.
July 10, 1994.
North Baltimore Sheter house.
Pat Burwell was reimbursed $13.50 for bringing the ham. Aunt Nellie moved and Ed Burwell, Jr.
seconded that we don’t have a ham next year.
Kathy Edwards moved we put on the invitations that everyone should
bring 1 hot and 1 cold dish. A
discussion was held that not enough people were getting invitations. Martha Sorg said again this year that she
can’t invite people if she doesn’t know where they live. Relatives were encouraged to write down
the current addresses of family member who can be traced – no one is
intentionally left out. 33.
July 9, 1995, North Baltimore City Park. Approximately 40 people attended. The problems with the shelter house were
discussed including: restrooms being locked, dirty and out of toilet paper,
broken screens and a serious wasp problem.
Shelter house rates have also been raised to $40.00 Despite the problems, the family voted to
return here next year. Mary Eninger
will speak to the clerk about the problems when she reserves the shelter house next year and Marta Sorg will write
a letter. Elections were held: President: Betty Rayle; V-P Kathy Edwards;
Marte Sorg, Sec. Treas. The afternoon
was spent visiting. The annual
auction was held. 34.
July 14, 1996, North Baltimore City Park, with 33
people in attendance. Elections were
held. President: Betty Rayle; VP: Bob
Rayle; Sec: Martha Sorg. Bob Rayle
conducted the auction which brought in $31.50. 35.
July 13, 1997.
Minutes read and approved.
Elections: Pres. Bob Rayle; VP-Greg Rayle; Sec-Treas: Marta Sorg. Tom Barnhizer – Genealogy in Burwells gaps
for Burwell book. Videotape by Larry
Unterbrink, Ed Burwell, possibly shown at 1998 reunion. Tom also had documents. Marte will send copies to Larry
Unterbrinck and Tom Barnhizer—address and births, deaths, marriages for last
decade or so. Update of Burwell
book! Bob Rayle conducted auction. 36.
July 12, 1998, North Baltimore City Park. Officers for this year will be: Bob Rayle,
President; Greg Rayle, Vice
President; and Marte Sorg, Secretary-Treasurer. Tom Barnhizer, Larry Unterbrink, and Ed Burwell presented The
Burwell Story. Larry produced a
video which was enjoyed by all. A
copy of the video was donated to the family.
The auction was held, which earned $52.60. 37.
July 11, 1999, North Baltimore City Park. The “Burwell” family information is
available on disk, according to Tom Barnhizer. The family voted to keep the same officers for two more
years. They are Bob Rayle, President;
Greg Rayle, vice president; and Marth Sorg, secretary-treasurer. The family discussed relocating the
reunion in the future. Emma Jean
Hoops said she would look at possible locations in Deshler and Chris Mercer
will look at the surrounding area.
Family will continue the discussion in 2000. They also discussed changing the start time to 1:00 pm. 38. July 9, 2000 at the North Baltimore City Park. Bob Rayle, President presided. Bob made a motion that future reunions being at 1:00 so that some family members can attend church. Chris Mercer reported an area shelter house but they can’t be reserved. Pat Edwards & Bob Rayle said they liked the North Baltimore building park and location. Kathy Eninger said that the shelter house price will stay the same and volunteered to pick up the key each year. Joe Rayle moved we stay in North Baltimore and numerous family members seconded the motion. Several family members said they would like to have copies of the old reunion minutes. Marte Sorg passed around a sign up list and she will bring copies to the next reunion. |
