“John Grono 1767 - 1847: Our Old Colonial Neptune”

Robert Taylor has kindly allowed the Grono Family Association to publish his research into John Grono’s life. It covers John Grono's life (as far is known), with particular focus on his association with the sea. It covers what is known of his Royal Navy career in England and then with the Colonial Vessels in Australia, his private sea voyages (which included many trips to the whaling and sealing areas around the New Zealand coastline), as well as his ship-building enterprise on the Hawkesbury River.

The book is now available to purchase, from the Grono Family Association, for $35 per copy plus postage.

This publication was released in 2006. It provides complete transcriptions of all headstones/vaults and maps of grave locations for the cemetery within the Ebenezer Church grounds. This includes many Grono family members, including the graves of John Grono and Elizabeth Bristow.
