News and Announcements Thursday, March 25th, 2005 We've won our first award! How wonderful! We've won an award from Ancestry Connections! Thank you to the wondrful folks at Ancestry Connections :) We've added a new Awards page. Thursday, January 20th, 2005 One of the big questions I've had while reading through old deeds is "What is a 'Pole?'" I found a wonderful tutorial on how to read old deed records at Ghostseekers This tutorial includes not only how to read old deeds, but a conversion chart of old terms to more modern units. A special thank-you to Terri Allshouse and Roger Harvell for sending me this wonderful link Deed Platter September 12 2004 We have updated the look of our website. We hope this change makes it easier to navigate our site. Saturday, August 14th, 2004 Giles County Tennessee, 1820 Census images added to the Census Database Saturday, August 7th, 2004 I have finished scanning the 1820 Census for Robertson County Tennessee and have uploaded the images this evening. I will index them as time allows. Thursday, August 5th, 2004 Back in the saddle again.... Summertime responsibilities have completly halted the progression of the Williamson county transcription project, but with summer coming to an end and school starting again soon, the transcription project is finally back on track again. My apologies for the delay. :) Saturday April 24th 2004 A full week of severe storms and dodging tornadoes have delayed progress on the transcription project. In fact, all projects have come to a screeching halt this week. Fortunantly things seem to be settling down a bit and I can get back into the swing of things. Thursday March 25th 2004 In an attempt to pull some information out of the 1820 Williamson Co. Tn census, I found that I could not find it. It has not been transcribed yet, seemingly by anyone, so I hit my paid genealogy service only to be met with "No Image". So rather than spring $20.00 for a month of another paid genealogy service, I spent the same $20.00 and ordered the NARA Microfilm (which gives me publication rights [grin]) and with the help of my trusty HP Scanjet 3970 flatbed film scanner and a home-made reel holder adapter, I have finished scanning Williamson County Tn. into the computer, and have already begun transcribing it. I will be posting updates to the file Williamson 1820 and will put it all online here once the project is completed. Images Only Pages Transcribed:
