76TH FIELD ARTILLERY KING CITY, MARCH 1932

The shield and the motto together form the regimental insignia. The 3rd Division colors, blue and white, form the basis of the shield. The canton (upper left part) is orange, the color of the 2nd Cavalry shield, its parent organization. In the center of the canton is the dragoon hat worn by the 2nd Cavalry when they were known as dragoons. The round symbolizes the motto, which is “Duty the Spirit of 76”
- Col. Albert S. Fuger, U.S.A. Ret.

I am sorry but I do not have any information on this march to King City. King City was about 25 miles north west of Fort Hunter Liggett Reservation where the 76th FA also ran maneuvers and was a sub-station of Fort Ord about 90 miles away or a 2 to 3 day march. I hope to bring you more information in the future. 76th Field Artillery were often in King City’s local parades.
