Mary Murphy McDermott

Mary Murphy McDermott is M.8.4.1. in the Murphy Book. Mary is Pat and Maggie's Murphy's first children. Arthur and Mary farm was located in Milltown Section 21 and they farmed the 40 acres in the top of the Northeast quarter. Mary lived about 1 or 2 miles north from where she was born at her parents "Evergreen Homestead on Rice Creek"

From right to left: William Murphy Sr who came over from Ireland with his 3 sisters, his son Patrick and Patrick's daughter Mary Murphy McDermott with her daughter Evelyn taken on October 16 1910 in the Long Lake area of Polk County, Wisconsin.

Arthur and Mary live 1 or 2 miles north of her parents Pat and Maggie Murphy (Pat and Maggie's address today: 1976 155th St.)Address that could be Arther and Mary's farm is: 2078 State Highway 46 or any where close to this (Southeast corner of Otter Lake. Arthur's father Charles McDermott own 120 acres north of Arthur and Mary's. My best guess in the left side of State Highway 46 going north on the eastside of Otter Lake and the address of 2119 and 2119A could be Charles McDermott old homestead. (This would be the area on State Highway 46 at the intersection of 210th Ave County Rd G)As the crow flies the southeast end of Otter Lake to the intersection of Rice Creek at 155th St. would be 1.27 miles, just about right acording to family history. Look for the small RED DOTs

Mary and her husband Arthur's resting place is at St. Patrick's Cemetery Lake Long, Polk County, WI
