Heberle
families lived in the Odessa region of Ukraine from c1840, having emigrated
from Germany. Andreas Heberle b c1830, from Alpirsbach, Wurttemburg, migrated with his parents and lived in the
town of Munchen, near Odessa. His descendants lived near Odessa until after
World War II. At that time they moved further east. A few families
moved to Siberia in 1945-46. Some moved to Kasakhstan c1948 and Tadgikistan
c1951. One or two Heberles remain in Siberia in 1998, including Mathias Heberle, b 1917 in Ukraine.
Johannes Heberle was b Ukraine 1892. He d Siberia in 1969. In 1926 a new
town, Neu-Munchen was founded (about 15 km from Munchen) and Jakob Heberle moved there. From about 1985 some of the Heberles were
able to move back to Germany. Friedrich Heberle (b 1864), wife Barbara Bath (b 1866) and children, migrated to Campbell County, South Dakota
USA in 1898.

He later worked on tugboats, purchased one, sold it in 1903 to buy Gloucester Coal Company. He built the steam powered "Eveleth". He purchased a lumber and building material business in Gloucester MA, which has continued in the Heberle family. The business was operated by his son Charles Tracy II and grandson Charles Tracy III.

Consuelo had one son (Joseph Francis) and 7 girls (Edna, Constance, Beverly, Elizabeth, Janet and Suzanne). Bernard later sold his half of the
farm to Joseph.

Heberle Stables is at 751 Browncroft
Boulevard in Rochester NY. The Heberle family has been serving the equestrian
needs of Rochester since 1926. Located
adjacent to scenic Ellison Park Heberle stables is a full service lesson
and boarding facility. Currently managed by William R Heberle and his wife Heather, previously managed by his father Oscar
Joseph and grandfather Henry Alfred Heberle. William’s children are Jacob, Alicia and Marguerite.
Heberle Nursery Company operated in
the Rochester area (Penfield) in c1995.
A fruit farm. Heberle Farm Market operated in the Rochester area
(Qualtrough Road, Hamlin) in 1995 but Heberles were no longer involved. Started
by Kelly Heberle Burns father James Edward Heberle and mother Carole. Sold in c1987. A fruit and vegetable store was built next
to the farm house.
Sandra
Munnings Heberle has worked in the Sisters of Mercy motherhouse near
Rochester, since 1973. Over the years, she has worked as kitchen crew
member, kitchen manager and now kitchen supervisor. Mercy High girls help in
the kitchen. Each day’s luncheon meal is served both in the main
dining room and upstairs in the motherhouse to about 100 folks in the
Independent Living for Seniors program.

Arthur A Heberle b 1877 in Verona Mills, the son of Christian and Salome Ungerer Heberle. He d 1952 in Oneida. In the early days he worked in
Rochester, where he was a motorman on the street railways. He m June Wheadrick of Verona Mills in 1907. They lived in Rome for 7 years where he
was a motorman in Rome street cars. In 1921 they moved to Oneida where he
operated a farm and also served for many years as a watchman on the New York
Central. They had 2 sons, Milton A Heberle of Rome and Warner C Heberle of Verona.
Milton A. Heberle, 93, of Vernon, d 2003. He was a
member of the Nortrip Masonic Lodge, Minoa, NY. Survived by son and
daughter-in-law, Christian G and Donna Heberle of Minoa, 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashley Heberle.
Elnora H Heberle d 1986. A native
of Vienna, Mrs Heberle lived in Verona since 1951. She retired as staff
attendant after 14 years with the Rome Development Center. Mrs Heberle was a 1931 graduate of the
teacher training Dept of Morrisville College.
Surviving her were her husband Milton A and son Christian G of Minoa and 2 grandchildren.

Joseph Heberle (Hoerdt branch)
was a trade unionist, the founder of the teamster's union and member of the
central labor council in Cincinnati. Joseph Heberle proposed that street cars
be provided with an enclosed vestibule (cab).
At that time the driver was in the open, exposed to the elements. In
those days water troughs for horses were only in front of saloons. Joseph Heberle agitated for the city council
to provide water troughs. He was also instrumental in having Sunday funerals
abolished, so that drivers could have Sundays off. Joseph Heberle b 1866 in
Rulzheim, Germany. He lived in Cincinnati in 1890-91 and probably died there.
In Cincinatti OH there is a Heberle
Elementary School located at 2015 Freeman Avenue. About 950 students attended
this school in 1998, c70% African-American and 27% white. The school was built
in 1929. The building contains many decorative features, including a tiled
fountain dedicated to Joseph Heberle. He was an early school advocate, winning support for free
textbooks in the public school system.

The family separated when his mother d 1889. Maria was crippled and was sent to live in Chicago. She returned
to Dayton some time later. Joseph married, lived in Cincinatti, had 2 children but unfortunately the
whole family was lost after a pleasure boat sank in the Great Lakes.
Jacob Heberle (b 1878 d 1950 Dayton) attended Holy Trinity Grade School
in Dayton OH. Jacob was a tool and design engineer with General Motors. He m
Balbina Kraus in 1904 and had 7 children (Walter, Oscar, Lauretta, Margaret, Helen, Rosemary, James).
Walter V Heberle senior (Hoerdt branch) b 1905 Dayton d 1976, was
employed as a building maintenance supervisor. His wife Florence M of Davisburg; formerly of Dayton, d 2005 at age 97. Preceded in
death by her husband Walter and both sons, Gerald Clarence & Walter. She
was grandmother of Geoff (wife Melissa) Heberle of MO. She was a
nurse.
Jacob' Heberle’s daughter Margaret was a telephone company engineer. Margaret's brother James was a sales engineer with Sheffield Gauge.
Walter Heberle (b 1930 Dayton, d 1977 MO) lived in St Louis MO. He is the
father of Geoffrey Heberle,

Dr Gerald Clarence Heberle (Hoerdt branch, b 1932 Dayton) was a history lecturer in
Oakland MI. He was a Rhodes Scholar and studied for his PhD in London,

and Shakespeare, undergraduate courses on war literature and the Vietnam War,
in which he served. For several years he was managing editor for Biography, a
university journal of life writing. He has taught undergraduates in London
during semesters abroad, and was a visiting lecturer at British College in
Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. His research interest is English Renaissance
literature, with publications on Shakespeare and Spenser. He has also published
literary biography and Vietnam war literature. He co-edited a book on how
children's language ("Infant tongues: The voice of child in
literature" 1994). In 1999 he produced a book length manuscript on the
Vietnam war writer Tim O'Brien.

corporate law, in 2001 he worked for Stern & Kepler Law firm in Greensboro
NC, working on commercial real estate. Doug has resided in Greensboro NC
since 1997. In 2004 he was Vice President of Downtown Greensboro, Inc., an
independent non-profit agency working closely with the private sector and local
governments to stimulate new investment and interest in the central business
district. He is also co-owner of The Idiot Box, a downtown comedy
improvisational club that has shows every weekend. Doug has been with the

Wilhelm Heberle, father of Mrs Amelia D Lauer, b Rottenburg, Germany 1831. He learned the trade of tanner and leather finisher. Emigrated in 1849 and lived in Philadelphia PA, for 3 years. He moved to Reading and continued working at his trade, until 1863, when he went to Hamburg PA and carried on a tannery until 1869. He then returned to Reading and resumed his occupation, working at it until 1895, employed by the Lauer Brewing Company. In 1853 he m Paulina Goelz, with whom he had 9 children, 6 boys and 3 girls. Those alive in 1900 were Amelia D, who m Franklin Lauer; Anna, who m Bertolet Landis; William C, who m Julia Dersch and was foreman of the Lauer Brewery 1891-1900.
