a book in c1648 describing the life of his family. His parents, 4 brothers, 2
sisters and 2 children died in the plague epidemic in 1634-35. His book
described the comet of 1618 and arrival of Gustav Adolf’s Swedish army in 1630.
He recorded in his diary that he had to flee from his home near Ulm on 30
separate occasions in the 1630s, during the thirty years war (1618-48).
