Harry Rowe's Last Letter

Clayton Idaho
Nov. 1, 1935

Dear Mamma,

Guess it is time I was writing or you will think I have fallen in the river. There isn't much to write about, except I am working. Haven't had time to go deer hunting in yet. Don't look like I will either. Sure is cold here now. About zero all time and no snow.

Guess I won't be able to get home this winter. Am going to Portland with the outfit. We're going to try and stay here until Dec. 1, but the snow may run us out any time now. So will ask questions. I didn't get over to see Ernest, where is he now? Was over on business one day but had to get back.

Where is Frankie? And all the rest of the kids? And how did Dad come out on his crop? And how is he making it? Tell Rose that the new Dodge is running fine and she will get to ride in it one of these days.

Well, must close. Tell everyone Hello for me.

Lots of love,

Harry Rowe
