Counties in the Virginia Piedmont where descendants
of John and David Clarkson settled in the 1700s.
As seen in the following list, Albemarle County was formed from parts of Louisa and Goochland. As population grew, several new counties along the eastern side of the Blue Ridge were formed from Albemarle, so records may appear in several counties even though a family may have remained in the same locality.
