The Bullard Family
Thomas Bullard, born in Virginia, and died 1823, in Elbert County, Georgia.  He drew land for his services in Wilkes County, Georgia.  His wife Ann drew for land as the wife of a revolutionary soldier in 1825, and she died in 1827.  The children of Thomas and Ann (as mentioned in their will) are as follows:
  • Elizabeth, married William Dye on August 22, 1811
  • Temperance, married John Woodley
  • Thomas P., married Eliza P. Gunter
  • Sarah, married Murphy
  • Delilah, married Cooks
  • Tapley, married Anna Bell on June 29, 1807, in Elbert County, Georgia.
  • Nancy, married Butler
  • Allen

The Bell Family
Joseph Bell, born North Carolina; died in Elbert County, Georgia in 1818.  Served in the North Carolina Line.  Received bounty grant of land for his service in Elbert (formerly Wilkes county), GA in 1784.  In 1825, his widow drew land in the Land Lottery as a widow of a Revolutionary Soldier.  He married in North Carolina, Elizabeth Moseley, who was born in North Carolina, 1765.  The children of Joseph and Elizabeth are as follows,
  • Anna, married June 29, 1807 to Tapley Bullard in Elbert County, Georgia.

  • Rebecca, married John Gunter
  • Eleanor, married William W. Downer
  • Elizabeth, married Burrell Dye

Tapley Bullard and Anna Bell

Tapley Bullard (see the Bullard family above) was born round 1790, and died in 1820 in Jones County, Georgia.  He married Anna Bell (born around 1792, and died after 1860) on June 29, 1807 in Elbert County, Georgia.  The children of Tapley Bullard and Anna Bell are as follows:

  • Thomas B. Bullard, born 1808, and married Elizabeth P. Gunter on July 1, 1829
  • William Green Bullard, born August 27, 1810, died March 8, 1886, and was married to Milly Terrell Wyche on October 19, 1837
  • Tapley Bullard II  - believed to have died in childhood.
  • Rebecca Bullard, born 1813, and died in July 1886 (according to Eliam Methodist Church Records).  She married Anthony Johnson, who was born in Ninety Six, South Carolina, in 1803.

The parents of Anthony Johnson are unknown, however on the 1880 Census, he answered that both his father and mother were born in Virginia.  For information on Rebecca Bullard, see the Bullard Family above.  The children of Anthony Johnson and Rebecca Bullard are as follows:

  • Mary Ann Johnson, born 1829.
  • Sarah Lee ("Sally") Johnson, born 1832
  • John Johnson, born 1835 
  • Thomas J. Johnson, born 1837 
  • Robert H. Johnson, born 1838
  • Lindsey H. Johnson, born 1841
  • Martha M. Johnson, born February 23, 1843 in Elbert Co., GA; died April 27, 1920 in Carnesville, Franklin Co., GA. She married William James Gray who was born January 2, 1832.  And of course, it's this marriage that connects the Gray Family with the Johnson, the Bullard, and the Bell families.

  • Frances ("Fannie") Johnson, born 1847
  • Laffayette R. Johnson, born 1848
  • Caroline M. Johnson, born 1852
