CELESTINE ZINCK was born in France (aka Alsace, Alsace-Lorraine, Germany, Prussia) to unknown parents in the year 1822. It appears that he immigrated to the United States as a young man and settled in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He married 28 June 1847 at the Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio to Regina Rachel Lehmann (aka Lehman), dau/o Michel/Michael Lehmann & Marie Madeleine/Magdelena Biam who immigrated from Schirrhein, Alsace, Bas-Rhin, France.
In 1856 Celestine and Rachel operated a grocery store at the corner of Main & Washington Streets in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. The family lived above the store.
The family was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Emmanuel Catholic Church where their children were baptized, confirmed, and married.

There is no 1890 U. S. Federal Census. However, between 1880 and 1890 it is assumed that the Zinck children grew to adulthood and that the living family members continued to reside at Dayton.
