Lines with Participants Taking DNA Test

INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the SLONAKER, etc. Surname DNA Project.

The purpose of this project is to determine possible relationships between different family lines (worldwide, not just the U.S.A.). With the use of Y-DNA tests we hope to discover which families have a common ancestor. This includes, but is not limited to the following lines listed above. The project was established to create a growing database of Y-DNA profiles of male descendants to aid in genealogical research. Y-DNA analysis can assist in supporting or refuting the premise that two or more participants descend from a common ancestor.

We hope to achieve the following goals:

  • To determine possible relationships between lines in the United States.
  • To determine possible relationships between other lines of descent perhaps in a foreign country.
  • To assist those not sure of their lineage to determine which of these broad groups they might fit into.
  • To attempt to maintain privacy for those who only wish to make known their test number and earliest ancestor(s). However, if the testee posts or has posted their family information or lineage to Bulletin Boards, Discussion Groups, etc., privacy may have already been jeopardized.

  • Note: This may not reflect the number of lineages involved in the test (i.e., there may be more than one person on a given line who is taking the test). To contact a test participant or his representative researcher (not wishing anonymity) of a particular line, click on the kit number on the DNA results page. However, if a testee or his representative researcher wishes to remain anonymous an e-mail address or contact name will not be available. Send your name, etc. to Audrey and if possible, I will forward the mail onto that person. Be sure to give Testee's kit number and the name of the ancestor attributed to the testee.
