LABOYTEAUX PAPERS

The LABOYTEAUX PAPERS are a collection or group of loose mostly unsigned research papers and correspondences of different individuals. They appear as handwritten and typed letters, notes & extracts; research documents, Xeroxed copies, applications to societies, etc. that came to Elizabeth "Beth" Zaring of Wellston, Ohio from Buzz Carmichael of Lexington, Kentucky. Beth sought to document, confirm, and validate her Laboyteaux family connections. In February of 2008, Beth shared these LABOYTEAUX PAPERS with Arlene Wimmer Hill, our seasoned LABOYTEAUX researcher, and myself for perusal.

Beth indicates that in September 2007 she received two packages from Buzz Carmichael. Beth wrote, "Buzz Carmichael appears to be the recipient of the Laboyteaux papers of several family researchers and he graciously sent me all the papers and photographs he has collected."

As these papers passed to Buzz Carmichael then to Beth Zaring, we find among the papers some of the names of individuals who appear to have been among the researchers. It is my desire to credit the following individuals with the information that has come to be shared with our LABOYTEAUX Family Group Discussion List via RootsWeb.com. Many researchers over time will certainly benefit from these LABOYTEAUX PAPERS and the work shared by others.
