  LABOYTEAUX, etc. GEDCOM

Presently this GEDCOM contains the research of Arlene Wimmer Hill from her The Descendants of Gabriel Laboyteaux 1652-1998 and latest GEDCOM of 2006 sent to Audrey. It may contain or eventually contain some additional information from the research of James J. de Waal Malefyt and his work, Gabriel Le Boteulx (1652-1734) of La Rochelle, France, New York City, and Piscataway, New Jersey; and other researchers: John C. Laboyteaux III, Beth Zaring, Effie Bledsoe Hannon, and other contributors. My [ASH] research of the JORDAN and WIMMER connections will also be added.

Arlene has shared her basic lineage from Gabriel LaBoiteaux/LaBoyteaux with us. Please share your research and information with us including censuses, land records, wills, Bible records and any other sources. Please post information, additions, deletions, corrections, etc. on our LABOYTEAUX-L Discussion List so that all can benefit from the information, or post a "Post-em" on WorldConnect. I will then announce the "Post-em" site location. I did lose quite a bit of information when my computer hard-drive crashed (June 2005), so you may wish to repost or resend information.

It is our wish that no living person be included in this GEDCOM. If someone is known to be living, please let Audrey know. I have set the GEDCOM cutoff date at 1920, but we know that some of our relatives are still living who began life at an earlier date. An attempt was made to conceal all those thought to be living.

Below we see a photo of Arlene at a cemetery in Weedsport, NY as she researches the LABERTEAUX family in May 2004. See additional photo and information under "P" below for "Peter Laberteaux", or under "M" for "Maria (Laberteaux) Laberteaux." Peter and Maria were first cousins and grandchildren of William LABERTEAUX (1767-aft. 1844) and Eva VAN CLEVE (1773-bef. 1820).

The Middlesex County-Somerset County, New Jersey county lines moved back and forth several times in those early years. Raritan Landing is found recorded as being in Somerset County and Middlesex County. Today it is in Middlesex County. Raritan Landing was so important in those early years, as it was the furthest port up the Raritan River that ocean going vessels could navigate. See: A Note about Places

"History of Hamilton County Ohio," 1881, Henry A. Ford, A. M. and Mrs. Kate B. Ford
Click on the map to go to an enlarged version of the map.
Then enlarge according to the functions of your computer. In Springfield Twp. is Mt. Healy (sic) which is probably Mt. Healthy.
Nearby is College Hill.
