POSSIBLE FAMILY CONNECTIONS
Do these "ring any bells" for anyone?
Wilene SMITH of KS shared this with OHBUTLER-L, 28 Nov 2000:
"According to the 1882 History of Butler Co., OH, Nicholas J. JONES, son of Jonathan JONES & Keziah HARVEY, md. Mary FARNSWORTH, said to be a dau. of Robert FARNSWORTH and Frances (unknown) of Northumberland Co., PA." Anna FARNSWORTH wife of J.W. FARNSWORTH is included in the list above, "but I don't know who either of these are."
"Also in early Butler Co. (Hanover Twp., 1820) were Aaron FARNSWORTH and (I believe) his sister Frances FARNSWORTH and husband Moses WILKINSON (my ancestors) who came to Butler Co. around 1806 from Northumberland Co., PA. Moses WILKINSON's brother, Gideon, made the same move, but to Reily Twp. and is buried in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery as are Nicholas J. JONES and wife Mary FARNSWORTH.
Aaron FARNSWORTH and Moses WILKINSON went to Fountain Co., IN, around 1826 where Moses died in 1833. Aaron went on to MO, then to IA as did several of Moses' kids.
More details can be found in my WILKINSON / RUTHERFORD Family File accessed from my website."
Marsha McWILLIAMS of IL shared this with OHBUTLER-L, 27 Nov 2000:
"I am assuming that this is John HANCOCK and his wife, Nancy GRAVES. I believe they are my ancestors but I've had no luck in documenting them. They had, among others, Nancy HANCOCK (d: bef. 1850, Butler Co) who md. Jonas JONES (abt. 1786, PA - Dec. 26, 1853, Butler Co., Reily Twp.) on July 20, 1809 in Butler Co. Jonas was possibly the son of Jonathon JONES and wife, Keziah HARVEY."
"I have been trying to find proof that Jonas & Nancy (HANCOCK) JONES were the parents of Keziah JONES who md. David CLEM in Butler Co on April 17, 1828."
[NOTE: Isabella HANCOCK, dau/o John HANCOCK & Nancy Ann GRAVES, married 1813 Butler Co., OH to Henry CLEM. And...Isabella's sister, Nancy HANCOCK, did marry Jonas JONES as Marsha stated. ASH]
