In this letter we find the mention of "Harmen" and "Elmira." James' sister was Elmira, and she was married to Harmen/Herman/Harmon Reinecke who evidently was serving his country with James. We learn in later government correspondence to Margaret that Herman/Harmon was a war casualty also. Then we see the mention of "Aby" (Abdel), "Franky" (Charles Franklin), and "Jimy" (James III), his sons. The father mentioned would be Abdel Slonaker, Margaret's father. Jack Martin was mentioned in this letter and that of April 19th. Relationship or family connections to Jack is unknown. (Henry Dunham, James' brother, married a Sarah Jane Martin.) Also, Henry Snyder is mentioned whose wife appears to be Mary, but relationship or family connection is unknown. Henry must also be an enlistee of Co. M.   [ASH]
