LAVINA CREAGER, dau/o Emanuel CREAGER & Mary Jane SWADENER, was born 27 Jul 1838 in Ohio; married 3 Oct 1861 Darke County, Ohio to Simon J. LECKLIDER; was probably the Lavina LECKLIDER who was a member of the CREAGER CONGREGATION of Darke Co., OH and who was "removed" from there on 23 Feb 1869. It was probably at that time that she and her husband and first born daughter left Darke Co., OH for Hartford, Blackford County, Indiana. Here they resided at the time of the 1870 U. S. Federal Census with another daughter born in Indiana. Simon J. LECKLIDER, s/o Jacob LECKLIDER & Susannah "Susan" [--?--], was born Jan 1834 in Ohio. Jacob S. and Lavina were the parents of seven children, five of whom were living at the time of the 1900 U. S. Federal Census:
Eudora "Dora" b Aug 1867 OH; Clara b June 1869 IN; Jay W. b 1872 IN; Rosella "Rose" b May 1874 IN; & Pearl b Sep 1876 IN.

He was buried at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Clear Creek Twp., Huntington County, Indiana.

Helen, daughter of John Wesley STORY of Queen Anne's Co., MD and Amelia Elizabeth WESSELL of Caroline Co., MD, was born 24 February 1897 near Church Hill, Queen Ann's County, Maryland; After Leslie's death she married 25 October 1941 Howard County, Maryland to (2) Samuel Earl SPARKS.

"Coal Dealer Dies in Assault Case"
"Leslie Creager, 64 is said to have suffered injuries in Argument on Street"
"Leslie Creager, 64 years old coal dealer, died today in the Maryland General Hospital as the result of injuries which he was said to have suffered on October 10 in an argument on the street near his home in the 1800 block Warwick avenue.
Police had arrested Frank Wurz, also of the 1800 block Warwick avenue, following the altercation and had charged him with assaulting and striking Creager. Wurz was given a hearing before Magistrate Harry Fine in the Northwestern District Police Court last Tuesday and was released in $500 bail pending the outcome of Creager's injuries".

LIVINGSTON; died 2 July 1931 at 77y. His wife, Flora, was born 8 June 1866 in Montgomery County, Ohio; died 20 September 1929 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at 63y 3m 12d. Both were buried at Woodland Cemetery in Montgomery County, Ohio.

Levi died 01 June 1903 in Iowa. They were the parents of 3 known children: Peter, Susette, and William. Nothing more is known about Levi and his family.

Until Bonnie Beekman Teusch shared photos of the weathered gravestones of siblings, Daniel & Louisa, which were located behind the church in the old part of the cemetery,
many genealogies did not include them as children of Samuel CREAGER & Mary Jane LESLIE. They are buried at the Clear Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek Twp., Huntington County, Indiana.

[Note: Charles and Lydia are Michael's great-grandparents. "The name of the cemetery where they are buried is the Washington Township Cemetery, located in Washington Township, Whitley County, Indiana. There is another cemetery attached to the west. You pull into the driveway and on the left is the Washington Township Cemetery and on the right side of the driveway is the Early Baptist Cemetery. At one time there was a small church at the back of the drive. Last year you could still see the foundation to the church. I was there a month ago and could not see the foundation."]
