Bonnie9 (Beekman) Teusch (Helen8 (Creager) Beekman, Harley Henry7, Rueben Henry6, Samuel5, Peter I4 Creager, Adam3 Creager, Johann Casper2 Krieger/Creager, Hans Ernst1 Krieger)

Bonnie Beekman Teusch states, "This picture always hung on my grandparents' [Harley Henry7 Creager & Lena Schieber...Harley, s/o Reuben Henry6 Creager] bedroom wall. Great-Grandpa Rueben died at my grandparents' home. They took care of him at the last."

SAMUEL5 CREAGER was the 5th child of Peter4 CREAGER I and his first wife, Eva / Eve ALBAUGH. He was born 3 November 1809 in Frederick County, Maryland; and he married 1836 in Huntington, Huntington County, Indiana to Mary Jane LESLIE. Mary Jane Leslie was born 31 January 1812 and died 2 February 1892. Bonnie states, "Samuel took out a land grant at Ft. Wayne [in Allen Co., IN] for Whitley County, Indiana property and moved there in mid-1830s.

Other members of family made the move also." Both Samuel & Mary Jane are buried at the Clear Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek Twp., Huntington County, Indiana.

Samuel and Mary Jane were the parents of nine children: 1. Lydia Margaret, 2. Lucinda, 3. Elizabeth Jane, 4. Delilah, 5. Mary, 6. "Tody", 7. Rueben H. Creager, and two previously unknown: 8. Daniel & 9. Louisa. Perhaps Mary is Mary Louisa and "Tody" is Daniel, but without knowing, I have recorded them separately for now. [ASH]

[NOTE from Bonnie Beekman Teusch: "When you look at Samuel, one can see the tremendous likeness his grandson, Samuel "Howard" Creager, had. That same soft spoken, gentle personality must have been the way Samuel was." Great "Uncle Howard was a favorite uncle of mine." Bonnie descends from Rueben H. Creager, son of Samuel Creager & Mary Leslie. Both father and son are buried at Clear Creek Cemetery in Huntington, Indiana.]
