MARSHALL COLIN PRICE'S GENEALOGY
Compiled by Glenn Gohr

Most genealogists have heard of "Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness." I have set up this page on the world wide web to help do my part to assist others in their research. One of my friends, Marshall Colin Price, formerly of Dallas, Pennsylvania, now resides in Springfield, Missouri, and is tracing his family tree. He has come to some brick walls in his research that seem impossible to conquer.

Maybe you can help him to identify a photograph which appears to be that of one of his great-great-great grandmothers.

Can you help me identify this photograph? This photo was passed down through the generations. But, alas, there is no name on the back of the photograph!

This is believed to be the great-great-great-grandmother (through his father's side of the family) of Marshall Colin Price, now of Springfield, Missouri.

The family lived in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania in the mid and late 1800s.

The nearest guess is that this is ________ Hackett, the mother of Marshall's ancestor, Susan Hackett.

Any help is appreciated.

Another search that Marshall Price is pursuing is the quest to find out whatever became of his maternal grandfather, George Willard Bryant. He was born in 1900 in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Harry and Cora E. (Strait) Bryant (b. 1875 Pennsylvania, d. 21 Sept. 1901 Browntown, Luzerne Co., PA). George had an older brother, Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Maude Elizabeth Davis of Detroit, Michigan. He married Letha Blanche Gordon on March 4, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Later they were divorced in 1929. He was last seen in Kingston, also in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

It has been rumored that he was killed in a truck logging accident in Virginia or West Virginia around 1930. Marshall has made a fairly extensive search of death records in these two states and in Pennsylvania from the 1920s up through the present. He is still checking death records for some years, but so far he has been unable to determine when or where his grandfather died.

Here is a photograph of his grandfather, George Willard Bryant:

On the following web page you will find copies of some articles that Marshall submitted to the newspaper in hopes that someone would be able to enlighten him regarding his grandfather:
