NEW
CROCKETT TAVERN MUSEUM SIGN

Pictured above is the new sign and walkway at the Crockett Tavern Museum.
The sign is the result of the Eagle project of Eagle Scout candidate David Maynard.  Beautiful job David!

And, the walkway is the work of Stephen Street.  Beautiful job Stephen!  And thanks to Tim for the picture so we can all appreciate the work that was done.  But that walk looks like it needs testing - time for us to go for a visit and check it out on our way get our picture made next to the beautiful sign!

Pictures from 2008 reunion posted
Tim Massey noticed that we were missing pictures from the 2008 reunion on the website, so he kindly sent a set of his pictures.  Check the 2008 link under PICTURES below.

The newest "Windows To The Past" mural, depicting legendary pioneer David Crockett, has been installed next to the Capitol Theater on Main Street in Greeneville, Tennessee. Gathered here to view the artwork were, from left, Greene County Heritage Trust President Jim Mays, Heritage Trust Mural Committee member Andrea "Andy" Daniels, mural artist Joe Kilday, building co-owner Patty Solomon, Mural Committee members Linnie Greene and Becky Yonz, and Tim Massey, president of the Pioneer Friends of David Crockett Birthplace State Park, and a Crockett Descendant who sometimes portrays Crockett at special events. A formal dedication of the mural will be June 7, 2014 with storytelling and a downtown antique fair with entertainment, topped off by the showing of Disney's King of the Wild Frontier. Fess Parker appeared here at the original showing in 1955. Massey will again share some of Crockett's wit with the attendees.  Click here for Mural image.

HISTORIC HAPPENING
Crockett Cabin and Museum to be on the History Channel!!!

On the front porch of the David Crockett Cabin in Rutherford, Tennessee, Joy Bland was interviewed by Scott Wolter for a future new History Channel documentary.  "I learned a lot about film making in those few hours.  Itís hard to repeat the repeat!  As usual I had a great time and Scott was a delightful interviewer. Joe and Sue Bone were gracious hosts as they always are.  No one realizes the work they do without any thanks.  They keep Davidís cabin open to all and Joe is an endless source of local Crockett history.jnb

Among the items in the Crockett Store is "Crockett Cousins."  This genealogy has been reprinted and copies are available for delivery. This is the most complete genealogy of the Crockett Family from David's grandparents to present day. The 200+ page book should be in anyone's library if they are researching the Crockett Family tree.
