Mellor

Mellor is no longer in Derbyshire, but was when my family lived there.
I only have census information for Mellor; but other people have information and pictures on their sites.
There are photos of Mellor in summer and winter on Geoff Heath's "Views of Mellor" pages.
Information about present day Mellor and local history is included in The Marple Website

The area has 4 parts to the census as it is larger than other villages I have transcribed.
The sketch map below is just to show the places in these 4 areas and is not to scale.
N.B. not all places mentioned in the census are shown on the map itself

See instuctions on main census page on how to use index.

I have kept to the spellings that are given; these vary between the four census enumerators, so families that lived in more than 1 section may appear with different spellings of their name in different sections.
