1. Matthew Hartford was born Abt. 1750, and died 29 Sep 1821 in (possibly) Wayne County, Ohio (Source: Intestate proceedings - Mercer County, PA - 20 Aug 1823). He married Ann Harvye daughter of Thomas Harvye, Jr and Magdalen Morgan. She was born Abt. 1747 probably in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and died Aft. Jan 1821 in probably Wayne County, Ohio.

Washington Co., PA - "Oakhill" pg 32-281 15A Smith Township - Washington County - as per 1800 Federal Census There was also a Matthew Hartford in Fayette County as per 1800 Federal Census. 1801-1808 Beaver County 7/1801 Matthew Hartford & Ann "of Beaver Co., Pa." as per sale, deed 16-180 (land on Peters Creek, Peters Twp., Washington Co., Pa. 1808-1819 Mercer County, Shanango Twp. 09/1809 McKay to Hartford deed 8/1809 Deeds 16-180 and 16-181 Land in Washington County recorded for some reason in Allegheny Co., Pa. 1819-1821 Wooster - Wayne County - Ohio as per Mary Evaline Moyer Cochran in DAR application. 01/1821 Matthew & Ann executed Power of Attorney to John (all parties residing in Wayne County, Ohio) for the sale of Mercer County, PA property. 02/1821 John sold Matthew & Ann's property pursuant to Power of Attorney to McClury. 02/1824 Intestate proceedings begun in Mercer County, PA DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Hartford, Matthew Applicant: Mary Evaline Moyer Cochran, wife of Charles Edward Cochran - 218 Birch Avenue - Mt Lebanon, Pittsburgh 28, PA - Dated 23 Mar 1964 Lineage: Mary Evaline Moyer (born 1907); June Edna Blanch Hanna (1880-1959); Mary Elizabeth Baker (1850-1928); Elizabeth Titus (1821-1897); Nancy Ann Hartford (1778-1854); Mathew Hartford (1750-1821) Ann Gilmore has a copy of this application Ann also has a copy of: Deed Book 2A, page 27 & 28 100 acres of the water of Muddy Creek in Fawn Township, Province of PA - states that Mathew Hartford is of Fawn Township, York County. Thomas Armor and Mathew Hartford are witnesses to the deed preceding this one. It is dated May 1779 and is signed by Jacob Drett and Johan Nicholas Deh. Ann Gilmore has a copy of: Will for Thomas Morgan Jr, written 12 Jun 1764, probate 17 Aug 1764, of Middletown, yoeman. Wife Martha, son Thomas, daughters Pamela and Madgalane. Orphans Court Records #424 states wife, Martha, remarried a man named Harper; Magdalen married Jesse Gilbert. There was account money to Tho Balger, Jos Dyer and Thomas & Magdaline Bulger. Money paid to Bulger "in trust for Ann Hartford". Ann Gilmore has a copy of: Will Book 6, Vol 1, page 382 Thomas Morgan, 08 Sep 1774 of Newton, yoeman, being of advanced age - proved 07 Feb 1775. Wife Magdalen, Daughters Madgalen wife of Thomas Bulger, Frances wife of Wheeler Clark - names grandsons and granddaughters. Ann Gilmore has a copy of: Will for Magdalen Morgan, of Newtown, Probated 16 Mar 1784 Daughters Magdalan Bulger, Frances Clark, Elizabeth Neal Sons Charles, Peter, Thomas. Names Grandchildren Ann Gilmore has a copy of: Deed Book 24, page 138 12 Nov 1787 4 acres signed by Matthew Hartford, Ann Hartford (her mark), Joseph Dyer, Mary Dyer. Ann Gilmore has a copy of: 28 Jul 1796 Thomas & Jean McMillan sold to Matthew Hareford "Smyrna". Ann Gilmore has a copy of: 31 May 1802 Matthew and Ann Hartford of Beaver County, PA sold to Benjamin Pinkerton "Smyrna". Notes for Ann Dyer: Have: Probate Papers of Ann's grandfather, Thomas Morgan refering to Ann as his granddaughter and as the wife of Matthew Hartford (sometimes known as Mark Hall).

Nancy Ann Hartford, born 22 Feb 1778; died 06 Dec 1854 in Hickory Twp, Mercer, Pennsylvania. 3. Hannah Hartford, born Abt. 1780 (Source: Mycolynda Updegraff PO Box 421 - Dillard, OR 97432). She married John Morris. 4. Mary Hartford, born Abt. 1782 (Source: Mycolynda Updegraff PO Box 421 - Dillard, OR 97432). She married Martin Gunter. 5. Madgelena Hartford, born Abt. 1784 (Source: Mycolynda Updegraff - PO Box 421 - Dillard, OR 97432). She married John Siddons. 6. Mathew Hartford, Jr, born Abt. 1786 (Source: Mycolynda Updegraff - PO Box 421 - Dillard, OR 97432). He married Nancy Bavington. 7. Sarah Hartford, born Abt. 1788. 8. Thomas Hartford, born Abt. 1790 (Source: Stark County History / Federal Census); died 1851 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, PA (Source: Probate Papers). He married Abigail Foote.
