 Obituary: FITCHBURG - Mary (Santonoceto) Girouard, 79, 
 of the Highlands Care Center, 335 Nichols Road, 
 formerly of 35 Day St., died Saturday in Burbank Hospital 
 after an illness.

 Her husband, Raymond P. Girouard, died in 1970. 
 She leaves two sons, Raymond J. Girouard of Westminster 
 and Robert D. Girouard of Fitchburg; 
 two daughters, Rosemarie Girouard of Hull and 
 Virginia Gersie of Charlotte, N.C.; 
 a brother, Philip Santonoceta in New Hampshire; 
 three sisters, Lucy Tocci of Pembroke Pines, Fla., 
 Rose Pelote of Fitchburg, and 
 Angie Vienneau of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 
 a great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. 
 A brother, Sardi Santonoceta in Michigan, 
 died three months ago. 
 She was born in Italy, daughter of 
 Joseph and Vincenza (Marotta) Santonoceta, 
 and lived here most of her life. 
 She worked for 25 years at Park Snow's, retiring in 1975.
 Mrs. Girouard was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Church 
 and its Mount Carmel Society, Navy Veterans' Mothers 
 Association, American Association Retired Persons and 
 Fitchburg Lodge, Sons of Italy in America.

 The funeral will be held tomorrow from Smith-Mallahy 
 Funeral Home, 243 Water St., with a Mass at 10 a.m.
 in St. Anthony de Padua Church, 84 Salem St. 
 Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. 
 Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 tonight 
 and 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. tomorrow. 
 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 
 Residents Activity Fund, The Highlands Care Center, 
 335 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, 01420; or left at 
 the funeral home.
