COMMENTS

His wife, Mary Wright/Gilbertson/McCreadie, was also living on Port Road at the time of their marriage

1891 Census says "John McCreadie Head married aged 35 Gas stoker born Scotland; Mary McCreadie Wife married Age 38 (which conflicts with marriage certificate) Born Carlisle; Thomas Wright Gilbertson Stepson Single aged 19 Engine Cleaner born Carlisle; William Gilbertson Stepson age 17 Engine cleaner born Carlisle"

The 1901 Census On-line also lists John McCreadie Labourer In Gas Works Age 25 Born in Carlisle, Cumberland and living in Caldewgate Carlisle, Cumberland at the time of the Census. Because of their similar occupations, it seems possible that the younger John McCreadie listed in the 1901 Census was a son of this John McCreadie 1st who would have been about 45 or 46 at the time of the 1901 Census
