COMMENTS

* Elizabeth Witney/Widowson's birth was registered in the "Anston Sub-District of Worksop Registration District in the County of York". Her birth place, Todwick, is in Yorkshire although Worksop is in Nottinghamshire. Registration District boundaries have subsequently changed.

At the time of the 1901 Census, on 31 Mar 1901, Elizabeth Witney was a resident General Domestic Servant working for Arthur Kay, Pawnbroker and Outfitter, his wife and son. The Census records Arthur Kay as working from home so presumably 6 and 8, Hoyland Road, Hoyland Common were combined as their home and their pawnbroking and outfitting shop or shops.
