Margaret (Peg) Gillon 1911-1999
Peg was the daughter of Charles Gillon and Agnes Hay. She was born in Radnor Park, Clydebank, Scotland, on December 17, 1911.
She immigrated to the United States in 1922, with her mother and father, and two brothers, Charlie and Tom Gillon. They settled in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until Charles died in 1937. She married Lysle McClelland on October 15, 1932. They were the parents of two daughters, Nancy and Barbara (me). Lysle died May 30, 1978 in Bellaire Beach, Florida, where he and Peg lived after their retirement.
Peg continued to live in Florida for about 10 years and then moved to Ogden, Utah, to live with her daughter Barbara. It was there that she recently passed away.
She had spoken many times about all the changes she had witnessed in her lifetime, her life spanning almost a century. If only she could have seen the wonderful millinneum celebrations that are taking place as I am writing this.
