The book is in two parts  = EARLY GILLOCKS  p1 thru p269 & the JONES-GILLOCKS starts p270 to the end of the book... Each part has its index at the front.

I have endeavored to write a family history that would be different from 

most books.

JESSIE ARNOLD JONES of Durant, Ok. was the "very" first one to say 

he wanted a copy of the family history; in his home in 1963, his  father JOHN WATSON JONES present. "THEN" I had in mind to make him a "carbon" copy of what I made....."BUT"

.... as others learned about it & wanted a copy... "THEN".... That was not 

the way to do this.  Resulting into what it has..... "BECOME".

If I had stopped & published the book in about 1972, there would only be about one fourth of what is being put in the book "NOW".  "AND" this is what it is all about- "FAMILY HISTORY", know who your ancestors were.

People did not respond to calls for "their" pictures to put in the book, as 

they should have. Therefore, I took pictures of those who would permit me 

& used in the book. I wanted to preserve as many of the old styles in dress

& old timers, as possible, They were grouped in families as nearly as "possible", also, considering the  finances and the response, some are not near their part in the book, one will have to find.

The church people belonged  to, if known, was used, if no church shown, it 

was because they did not belong to a church or else they did not show. Mostly did not belong.

No need to be "ashamed" if your line has a murderer, a suicide, or some other "black sheep" in the family; believe me, "EVERY LINE" has them. People are people, and people are "sinful" from the very start of time. "EVEN"  God put the "good" and the "bad" part about his people in the bible.

All information in the book is what was sent to me or else it came from 

official records. And, is just as true & correct as humanly possible.

Permission to use  "WRIGLEY's CHEWING GUN FUN FACTS was given. "BUT" "JENNY WILEY COUNTRY" by C. MITCHELL HALL, he would not give permission, only to refer to.

There are blank lined pages in the back of the book for you to use to carry on your family history.

Everyone does not see & report the same thing of what they saw. Even tho they saw the same thing, but sees it differently.

I have strived to put where the information in this book was found, 

occupation, trade & other information, so that it would be easier for one to trace their line further. I have strived for "perfection", but, I am not a "typist" & you see it is far from it.

Correction=p700 line 20, JON JUSTICE should be JOHN JUSTICE: it was father JOHN, his sons, JOHN & SIMEON JUSTICE in the REV. WAR. Extra copies of this book has been made, many indicated they wanted a 

copy, "but" did not put up the money for a copy. 

These "extra" copies will be available as long as they last.....BUT....even if 

it is 5, 10 or 20 years from now or longer & you want a copy; one of these 

will know about them if I should have gone on to be with  JESUS;
