Order Book #8, 1769 - 1777, page349: Was found in Deed Book 16 p 303 1775 - Deed Lease Lawrence Gillock Sr. from Alexander Waugh (which pertains to the fore going instrument on the above page DGJ) Lawrence Sr., had leased this 5-7-1774, and was supposed to pay 600 pounds good sellable tobacco, and keep the buildings & fence & etc in a state of good repair, or forfeit, names in this instrument= Alexander Spotswood (The Rev. War Colonel found on p 638 Dar Patriot Index) & Brig. Gen. Weinrford, his commanding officer, Arjalon Price, John Price, Wm. Webb, Lawrence Jr., Thomas, & Samuel Lindsay Gillock, F. T. Bramham & Caleb Sijon. (This was to lengthy to use, when it was just about the same as the above instrument. DGJ)
On the same page as above a deed to 17 acres of land from William Price to wife Mary to Charles Porter for 21 pounds, five shillings 3-27-1775. (Prices must be related to Gillocks, too. DGJ)
Minute Book 2, 1774 - 1789 p 367 & 368. Lawrence Gillock Jr. brought into court by Catlett Conway to be of good behaviour for 12 months, or go to jail, 7-27-1786, on the same warrant came Samuel Lindsay, ordered he be dismissed.
Minute Book 3, p 225, 1789 - 1797 To Samuel Lindsay Gillock for patrolling 23 12 hours(?) Tuesday 4-29-1794, $11.50.
Order Book 8, p 10, 1769 - 1777: The suit of Lawrence Gillock Sr. & wife Jane against John Nixon dismissed at Pltf's cost. (Plaintiff commences suit, Defendant is one being sued. DGJ)
Minute Book 2, 1774 - 1789, p 181 Thomas _____ Burrus claim for beef. p 198 Excused from paying tax on Negro winch Lucy. (My g. g. grandfather Robert Gillock m Nancy Burrus, 1806, Albemarle Co., VA., this Thomas may be a relative. DGJ)

Deed Book 13, p 502, Gillock to Duncanson Delivered Apr. 1765. Know all men by these presents that I Lawrence Gillock Sr. of Orange Co., for value tome in hand paid have sold to James Duncanson, merchant, Fredericksburg, one iron gray mare about 5 years old branded on rear buttock thus M-1, two feather beds & furniture, one cow big with calf, marked with a crop & slitt in each ear, half dozen plates (pewter), one dish, 2 basons, seven head of hogs, marked with a swallow fork in the left "year" & an underkech(?) in the right ear & do hereby warrant & defend the said goods & chattels as witness my hand and seal this 3-18-1765. Teste: Frenchstrother & Edward Stevens. (Mare delivered in part of stuff. Recorded 3-28-1765) Signed by his mark Gillock Sr.
