While in Dallas, Tx 5-11-1973, at the home of a cousin whom I had not met before, JESSIE BELL CUNNINGHAM, I looked in the phone directory & saw some GILLOCK names, called some, and a RUTH (GILLOCK) PHELPS to fill out forms & give what information she could . . . Eventually getting contact with her sisters & cousin JOHNNIE (GILLOCK) UECKERT, ORA (GILLOCK) ASHLEY, INEZ (GILLOCK) POWELL & WILTON RICHEY GILLOCK, last two in Ky. Thru these & meeting SCOTT in person, I have been able to compile what I have . . . and I had learned SCOTT was a very unique, rare, peculiar individual person & very much so . . . that he was confined to a wheel chair for the past 20 years . . . I wanted so badly to know his full name & who his father & grandfather were . . . before going on 1976 trip . . . I had contacted WILTON R. GILLOCK in Glasgow, Ky. but he had not answered . . . one morning he phoned me to say SCOTT’S name was . . . SCOTT GRIFFIN HANCOCK WINGFIELD GILLOCK . . . but that he did not use all of it . . . eventually we arrived at WILTON’S HOME. . IT WAS 9-21-1976, it was hot & dusty at his place, they were nice friendly people & asked us to stay the night & he would take us to see SCOTT early next morning which would be better for him . .
