He made his escape & rejoined his company. He was educated at the Glasgow College at Glasgow, Ky. His wife, 3 daughters, 18 grandchild ren, 2 great grandchildren survive. He was a devoted member of the Ba ptist Church & the Masonic fraternity at Rock Hill, Ky. His congen ial & charitable disposition won him many friends. Services conducted by Rev. J. H. OLIVER at the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Dickson Co. & buried in the cemetery there. From MARTHA, his dau, father use to raise sheep & cattle & farmed, when it came time to shear the sheep, she helped him by hol- ding their feet while he sheared; a farmer was almost self sufficient made maple syrup from the maple trees.
