Jefferson Fulcher, Plt. vs James Gillock, Dft. Adm. Richard Fulcher dec'd 2-22-1834 # 787: Adm. James Gillock takes all slaves & increases, sells property & heirs want settlement from James Gillock: James admits to Adm. of Estate, but he does not know who are the heirs, 8 pages long; names at sale:
Barren Co., KY Deed Book "D" p 207: From Ambrose Barlow et alto James Gillock: This indenture made between Ambrose Barlow & Sarah Ann (Smith) Barlow his wife to James Gillock for $150. 50 acres of land in Barren Co., being in the District set apart for the officers and soldiers of the Virginia State Line 9-7-1814, she the said Anna relinquishes her right of dower agreeable to law, Att. J. W. Davic, D. C. (I include this and the following for historical & because Gillocks were named fater (after?) him.
The DAR Patriot Index, p 36 shows Ambrose Barlow b. 7-?-1755; d. 8-13-1839 m. Anna Smith Pvt Va., Ambrose was one of the early settlers of Barren Co., filed on this land set aside for Rev War soldiers & sold to James Gillock, it was along Skaggs Creek.

Ambrose Barlow b 7-?-1766 (wrong to young to be in Rev. War DGJ) d. 8-13-1839; (Note: I don't agree with this statement by Dayton, First the Rev War did not start and end in the same year. it ran 1776 - 1783, He would have been about 17 at its end, many 12-13-14 years old fought in the Rev. War... nlp) Sarah Ann (Smith) Barlow b. _____1769; d. 12-14-1849, both b. Culpepper Co. VA. (This about Ambrose & Anna are in Barren Co., KY Cem.
