Barren Co., KY Deed Book "D", p 417-17; 3-13-1816 Sarah Hunt's P.O.A. Know all men by these presents That I Sarah Hunt of Barren Co., KY. Executrix of Reuben Hunt dec'd, nominate & appoint Thomas Bourne of Jessamine Co., KY., my true & lawful Attorney for me & in my name to sue for & recover any money that may be due or coming to me from William Fears of Charlotte Co., VA, inconsequence of certain land sold by Fears to the said Reuben Hunt & to grant my redcipt discharge or exoneration... my attorney may legally do as if I were there. 3-13-1816. This Power ofAttorney was proven by oath of James Gillock (above) before Wm. Logan Clerk BCK 4-15-1816 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barren Co., KY Will Book #1, p. 165 Know all men by these presents that we Frances Wyatt, Thomas Bourne, Robert Newell, James Gillock (1842 Will DGJ), Legatees of Reuben Hunt dec'd and Abner Wilson guardian of the heirs of Robert Hunt dec'd which said Robert was also one of the legatees of Reuben Hunt dec'd, have this day for the purpose of amicably settling & adjudting the concerns of the estate of Reuben dec'd & for the purpose of making an equal & just distribution of the estate amongst legatees do by their presents agree that all the Negro's belonging to said estate shall be delivered by each holder on Thrus 10-11-1821 at the house of James Gillock (the above DGJ) in Barren Co, KY That is to say Frances Wyatt shall deliver up "Lizzy" & four of her children, the fifth child of hers, to wit: Stephen is by these presents & with the absence of all the undersigned Legatees awarded in raising the remaining four children of Lizy; Thomas Bourne is to deliver one Negro girl Ellen. Robert Newell is to deliver Charlotte & her two children; James Gillock (the above DGJ) to deliver one Negro woman Christian & her three children; and Abner Wilson, afore said guardian is to deliver Lydia & following Commissioners chosen & designated by the subsequent parties To wit: Samuel Murrell Sr., Thomas Winn, Hardin Davis & Lawrence Wilson (prob where Hardin Davis Ralston, son of Americaa Jane (Gillock) Ralston, (pay close attention to these names, many are relatives, thru out everything in all these documents) got his name. DGJ) and if Legatees can not agree among themselves as to the division, Commissioners are to make the division, equal part to each. And we & each of us hereby for the purpose of avoiding any litigation do hereby bind ourselves to be held firmly bound over to the other for the true & faithful performances of the conditions & obligations in this instrument in the final sum of $2000, in testimony whereof we have here unto set our hands & affixes our seal this 9-21-1821.
