Roberts to Lawrence Gillock Jr.,10-26-1804, for 80 pounds current money, a parcel of land on Scaggs Creek, containing 366 1/2 acres corner of Rice Bullock's corner running down the Creek to corner of Wm. Armstead's Survey of 1000 acres, in presence of John Gorin, Thomas Dickinson, Abner Bourne & Simon Buford. Signed: William Roberts (seal), recorded 3-18-1805, teste: W. Logan, BCC.
Orange Co., VA Deed Book 20, p 480, Power of Attorney Lawrence Gillock Jr., of Orange Co., VA to leave this state and go to the state of Kentucky, appoint Aaron Watts of Culpepper & Reuben Gillockof Orange Co., to be my Attorneys, and manage all my affairs inmy absence, this 9-28-1795& in American Independence the Twentieth. Barren Co., Deed Book "L" p 70 - 71: Lawrence Gillock Jr. Will this indenture made this 5-15-1827.. between Lawrence Gillock Jr. & William Gillock Sr. John Adams, Josia Baker & Charles Ray of Monroe Co., KY Witnessed that the aforesaid Lawrence Gillock Jr., for & in consideration of the sum of ($20) paid the aforesaid, each ($5) do hereby give to William Gillock Sr., the tract of land whereon he now lives containing 200 acres & one fourth and one equal proportion of all my personal estate & slaves at the time of my decease with a small exception hereafter named .. To John Adams I give 2 acres of land adjoining where he now lives, including his spring, also an equal part as above with the same exceptions and at the same time... Josias Baker, I shall leave an equal part of my personal estate & salves above with the same exception and at the same time .. to Charles Ray, I shall leave an equal part of my personal estate & slaves & ($100.) over which is the exception above alluded to also the tract of land whereon I now live... containing 175 acres, with all the appurtenances at the time mentioned ..
