In Obedience to the Worshipful Court of Shenandoah County:
We, the subscribers have settled the estates of JOHN GILLOCK Sr. dec'd with the Executors and find a balance in their hands of Two pounds, two shillings & eight pence for things given under our hands the 22nd Day of July 1785. Signed JOHN ANDERSON & JOSEPH PUGH. (Note by all standards, I would think this was a poor man. From my THOMPSON Chain reference Bible #3537, p 142 in General Index: 1 pound = about $4.80; a shilling = about 24 cents US Currency; Pence is plural for penny, 100 pence =1 pound. DGJ)
Names of Revolutionary soldiers & officers on p 13, are found in the DAR's PATRIOT INDEX: Capt. Francis Taylor not found; Capt Wm. Taylor p 669; Col Alex Spotswood p 638; Col Christian Febiger p 231 and John Gillock Sr. Pvt. p 269, there is other information given too.

Know all men by these presents thar we BENJAMIN WOLFENBERGER, MARTIN MILLER & JOHN BROWN are held and firmly bound unto ALEXANDER HITE, WILLIAM A. BOOTH, JOHN GROVE & JOSEPH PUGH, Justices in the Commission of Peace for Shenandoah Co., in the sum of five hundred pounds to be paid to the said Justices, we bind ourselves 5-1-1789, as Administrators of the estate of JOHN WOLFENBERGER, dec'd of such testament being first had and madein the Court then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain infull force & viture. Signed, Sealed & Delivered in the presence of: BENJAMIN WOLFENBERGER, JOHN BROWN, MARTIN MILLER (his mark).
At a court held for the county of Shenandoah on Friday May 1, 1789. On the motion of BENJAMIN WOLFENBERGER Administrator of the estate of JOHN Gillock, dec'd is granted to him, he having sworn to the same & given bond and security according to law.
