this my last will & testament:
IMPRIMIS: It is my will and desire that all my just debts & funeral charges be first paid as soon as convient after my decease... It is my will and desire that all the personal Estate that I die possessed of after my debts be paid & do give and bequeath unto Hannah my well be loved wife as long as she remains my widow and at the time of her marriage, I desire that which is remaining to be taken into the hands of my Executors hereafter mentioned for use of my children then living, to be equally divided among them as they arrive of age... I make and ordain Hannah my beloved wife to be my Executrix and my beloved brother-in-law PETER WOLFENBERGER to be my Executor of this my last will & testament to see the same performed & done according to the true testament and meaning of the same, revoking & disannulling all other wills byme heretofore made. In witness where of I have hereunto "sett" my hand and seal the date above written.... Signed, Sealed Pronounced & Delivered by the P. (which means "SAID" DGJ) John Gillock. At a court held for Shenandoah Co., on Thursday May 28, 1783, This last will and testament of John Gillock Sr was proven by Joseph Yeager, Joseph Pugh, Sworn to by Hannah Gillock & Peter Wolfenberger, Adminstrators therein named & ordered to be recorded & upon motion of the P.. (SAID) Adms. they having given Bond according to law, authority is given them to obtain a probate in due form of law. Teste: T. Marshall

Know all men by these presents that we HANNAH GILLOCK and PETER WOLFENBERGER, ULRIC MILLER and ABM SAVAGE are held & firmly bound unto FARINNER(?) BEAL, A.MACKEM, JOHN NORTH, JOSEPH ANDERSON, JOHN NITHERTON, JOHN HUTCHINSON, ABM. McCOY Gt Justices of the Shenandoah Co., now setting the sum of $500.00 current money of Virginia to the which payment well & truly tobe made the P.. Justices their successors we bind ourselves & everyone of us, our & everyone ofour heirs, Ece Adm.& assigns jointly & severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seal & dated this 29th day of May 1783.... the condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound HANNAH GILLOCK & PETER WOLFENBERGER, Exc. of the last will & testament of JOHN GILLOCK Sr., dec'd domake or cause tobe made a true and perfect inventory of all singular the goods, chattels & credits of the P.., the law charges them the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force & virtue.
