IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN: I, LAWRENCE GILLOCK, of Orange County, being in a low state of Bodily health; but thanks be to Almighty, being perfectly sound in sence and memory, I do constitute and ordain this mylast will and testamont in the form and mannor as follweth: Revoking & making void all other will or wills heretofore by me made.........
1st. I leave my body to be decently buried at the descretion of my Executor as hereafter named; and my soul I resign into the hands of Almighty who gave it to me.
2ndly. My will and desire that my funeral expenses and my just debts be paid.
3rdly. The of my estate I leave to my loving wife JANE GILLOCK; namely my house, land & plantation with all my personal estate, during her natural life and after her decease to be distributed amoungst my children as she shall think proper to leave it; having the greatest regard to him or these of my children, that will mostly assist her in discharging my just debts in order to make the remainder of her life as easy as possible.
4thly and lastly, I constitute and appoint my beloved wife JANE GILLOCK Executrix, LAWRENCE GILLOCK and SAMUEL LINDSAY GILLOCK Executors to this my last will and testament which I freely acknowledge in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 18th of April, one thousand, seven hundred & eighty six.......... At a court held for Orange County on Thursday the 28th of Sept 1786 This last will and testament of LAWRENCE GILLOCK heard being proven dead onto Court by Jane Gillock, Executrix of the last will and testament of Lawrence Gillock dead and was proven by the oaths of Spencer Thos. Bramham & Elizabeth Twentyman, two of the witnesses, heard and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of the said Executrix & Executor who made oath according to law certificate is granted them for obtaining letters of probate thereof in due form, Whereas or they with John Clark, their security entered into and acknowledged their bond for the same in the sum of five-hundred pounds Court money.
