This might take some time to load, if you'd rather go for an Amentafel Report, I understand. If you have a moment, let me highlight our most wanted information, the names that are links have pages created for them. Rather go to the Reunion generated Personal and Family Group Sheets?
Brothers and sisters of Edward Gillen who was in South Bend, Indiana in 1869 and did he really lose some land in a poker game?
Emma Schendel's family initially settled in Plymouth, Indiana around 1871. A notation from her daughter-in-law says only that she moved to Omaha where she married Edward Gillen around 1890. It would be wonderful to discover her family.
My paternal grandmother, Helen Thomas Jones (1889-1981) lost a brother. Wondered about him all of her life. His name was Dye Jones and the story goes that he "had a problem with alcohol". Their mother attempted the prescribed cure, syrup of ipecac in the liquor. Dye got terribly sick. He didn't quit drinking. He discovered what his mother had done and he left. No one saw or heard from him again.
Daniel Cox (1836-?) is a puzzle. A Family Bible record showed that he married Emeline Chaney in 1856. In 1860 the couple had moved to Franklin County, Illinois. The Census shows them with a one year old and a two year old, with everyone born in Tennessee. Family tradition has it that "Uncle Dan" took his entire family to Canada rather than have anything to do with the Civil War. In 1884 his daughter, Mary Alice Cox married my great grandfather, Cyrus Taylor. It would be terrific to get some leads on Uncle Dan.
