Charlie emigrated to USA in 1925. According to the Ellis Island website his place of residence before he arrived in New York was Marseilles, France. He married Fani but we haven’t found out when or what her maiden name was – yet.

There is a family story that Charlie was already married to a Spanish girl and she went back to Spain. He then married Fani but had not bothered to divorce the first wife so he married her using his brother’s name. So this is either Charlie or Daniel pretending to be Charlie. We haven’t found Daniel’s details yet although I keep looking for a marriage.

This Charlie gave his date of birth as 1889. He was going to stay with his Aunt Daisy Guilfoyle in Boston and we haven’t found out about her either!

On the back of this picture it says "Charlie, 1950, Flushing, New York

On the back of this one it says Charlie and Fani, Flushing New York, 1939.

Apparently they had a farm.
