OBITUARY:
Mrs. James R. Lovett, 83, the former Jessie Sumner, of 319 Pleasant Street, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital this morning. She had been a patient at the hospital since Monday.
Born in Brandon January 14, 1885, she was the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Rogers) Sumner. She had attended schools in Brandon and was married to Mr. Lovett in Brandon. Mr. Lovett, who died July 9, 1966, was proprietor of the Lovett & Boynton, located on Bennington s Main Street for some years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors are one son, Stanton S. Lovett of Colonie, NY; one daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Cleo) Pearson of Schenectady, NY; four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday at 2 p.m. The Rev. H. Glenn Payne, First Baptist Church pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Chapel and burial will be in that cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Mrs. James R. Lovett Memorial Fund at the First Baptist Church.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
