OBITUARY: FEBRUARY 14, 1997
Elizabeth Hunter Delling, 81, of 10 Mechanic Street, Jordan,died February 14 at her daughter's in Pepperell, Massachusettes.
She was born in Plessis, Jefferson County, and moved to Jordan in 1945. She was a 1937 graduate of the Syracuse University School of Music.
She was a vocal soloist at Hendricks Chapel from 1952-1957. She retired in 1972 after 15 years of teaching music in the West Genesee School District. She also taught music lessons and was a soloist and choir director in the Syracuse area.
Her husband, Hawley, died in 1994, and her daughter, Sandra, died in 1995.
Mrs. Delling was a member of the Jordan United Methodist Church, the Syracuse University Alumnae Association, the New York State Teachers Association and the Jordan Study Club. She was a trustee of the Jordan Bramley Library from 1965 to 1976.
Surviving are her daughter, Judith Serreze of Pepperell; two brothers, Paul Hunter of Plessis and Douglas Hunter of LaFargeville; two grandsons and serveral nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home at 15 North Main Street, Jordan, with the Reverend Roland R. Ryan officiating. Spring burial is in Fairmount Cemetery in Red Creek. There are no calling hours.
