Local Man Takes Hoosick Falls Bride
Miss Eleanor M. Kearney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin F. Kearney of 7 High Street, Hoosick Falls, became the bride of Stanton S. Lovett, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Lovett, 310 Safford Street, Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Paul K. Lynch, O.S. A at the rectory of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Hoosick Falls, the single ring service being used.
Miss Mary T. Sullivan of Albany was the bride s attendant, while David Crichton, friend of the bridgegroom, was best man.
The bride was gowned in grotto blue crepe and wore a burgundy hat and accessories with a corsage of white roses and baby s breath. Miss Sullivan s dress was of wine color crepe with corresponding hat and accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of Talisman roses.
A small reception for the immediate families of the couple was held at the home of the bride s parents and afterward, Mr. and Mrs. Lovett departed for a motor trip through New England. Upon their return they will reside at 186 Western Avenue, Albany, NY, in which city both are employed.
Mrs. Lovett is a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School and Troy Business College and is a senior clerk in the New York State division placement and unemployment insurance office in Albany. For a time, she was employed in Bennington at the office of Ben Mont Papers, Inc.
Mr. Lovett is a Bennington young man, a graduate of Bennington High School and Brooklyn Engineering School. He is employed by the Western Auto Stores in Albany.
Several people from Bennington were in attendance at the wedding.
Obituary
Lovett, Eleanor K. COLONIE -- Eleanor Mary Kearney Lovett, 86, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2002. She was born in Hoosick Falls and was the daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Fogerty Kearney. She lived in the Albany area since 1937 before moving to Colonie in 1953. Mrs. Lovett was a 1933 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School and a 1935 graduate of Troy Business College. Eleanor worked as a senior clerk for New York State from 1937 through 1947 and more recently as a secretary for the Town of Colonie from 1963 through 1980 before retiring.
She is the beloved wife of 63 years to Stanton Lovett. She is the devoted mother of Bruce Lovett and his wife Nancy of Colonie, Joan Lovett Hunter and her husband Greg of Elbridge, N.Y. and Gary Lovett and his wife Janet of Clinton Corners, N.Y. Also surviving are six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Avenue). Calling hours will precede the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
