Letter to Mr. A. J. Hunter
Mailed from Syracuse, NY
December 28, 1914

620 S. Salina St.
Syracuse, NY
Hello Everybody-

Well how is everything at home We are nicely situated in our new home. Have all the conveniences we could ask for. We havethree rooms with bath, steam heat, gas lights and everything nice.
Reached Philadelphia in time to get the train for Watertown. Stayed at the new Woodruff Thursday night and left in the morning for Syracuse. Had no trouble in finding our rooms just a shortwalk from the station.
Hope Papa makes a deal for me on one of the fancy browns. I think I could use the change to a better advantage than I could the horses (especially Billy).
We are enjoying ourselves immensely every minute. Wish you couldjust look in upon us this evening. I tell you we have quite a city house all to ourselves. Took in the Temple Theater last evening and are going to the Hypodrome tomorrow night.
Have just been for a nice long walk out in the city. It seems so strange to see so many people and not a one that you know.
I don t know exactly when we ll be home but you see Lora wants to stay one or two nights at Lora s when we get back . So possibly we won t be down home before the 3rd if it doesn t make any particular difference. If it will make any diff, just say so and we ll be there to stay the 1st.
The wedding went very nicely didn t it? I m kind of proud of it and the presents were great.
I suppose Ross and the rest of the boys are anticipating on having some ?Chivarer? when I get back home. Alfred said they were going to make it quite interesting.
Lora is sound asleep on the cot so I m all to my lonesomeness. Guess I ll write another sheet and let her rest.
Lora was telling me about Chas and Hazel s present. We are more than pleased with it. They re just as good as they can be. When I think of the boys it makes me feel as though I d like to see you all altho we re having a grand good time but I wouldn t care to always stay. No place like home and the farm for this chicken.
Tell Ronald and Milton to take good care of Rex and Fred and tell them we were pleased to death with their present to us.
Don t think of any more just now but will write again.
Be sure to write back and tell us all the news. I m anxious to know it all.
Lovingly
Your son
Earl A. Hunter
626 South SalinaStreet
Syracuse, N.Y.

Must tell you that we get our own meals. The grocery store isjust a short walk from us. Have lots of good things to eat.
I m quite contented with married life in the City.
Good night-
Don t forget to write a good long letter.
Love to all

Lora s notes:
You would laugh to see us eating supper - we had toasted crackers and cheese, bread and butter and celery. Also apple pie, cold beef steak. We eat just awful and everything tastes so good. Wish you could drop in some time.

Tell Ronald and Milton that we are so pleased with that lovely cold meat fork. We rec d such lovely gifts - everyone is as good to us and we are sure enjoying ourselves. Our rooms are very pleasant. We shall be glad to get home and get settled nevertheless.
Love to all,
Lora
