Plessis - A memorial service for Douglas K. Hunter, 75, of 40098 Cox Road, LaFargeville, will be held at 7 p.m. today at Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Theresa, with the Rev. Thana Kibbe, pastor of the LaFargeville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be private.

Mr. Hunter died Wednesday morning at his home. There will be no calling hours.

Mr. Hunter was a retired dairy farmer and owner of Hunter Excavation. He was an Alexandria Town councilman and member of the town and Jefferson county Republican committees for more than 30 years.

Born November 4, 1927, in Plessis, son of Earl and Lora Wilson Hunter, he graduated from Alexandria Bay High School in 1945. He married Margaret I. Kelsey on May 24, 1947, at Theresa Methodist church wit the Rev. Kenneth D. Jones officiating.

Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife, Mark D and Jill, Alexandria Bay; a daughter and her husband, Jean and William Decker, Theresa; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A sister, Elizabeth Hunter delling and four brothers, jack W., Richard El, Alvaro J., and Paul A. died before him.
