Individual note:   G W R Coppock was one of thirteen children born to Aaron F Coppock Jr and Olive Carroll. At t he start of the civil war George's father left for Ohio saying he wasn't raised this way in r eference to the war. He left and never returned. Of all the children it was George who move d his mother into his his home as he had just married. Olive lived with him until her death t hirty years later. Again on 9 May 1901 George's brother Luke died, Luke was followed in deat h by his wife on 1 Sep 1901 leaving three children homeless. It was George who left his hom e and traveled from Emmet in Nevada County Ar to what is now Tull, in Saline Co Ar and too k his brother's children home and finished raising them. That trip now would mean about 180 m iles round trip, then it was a journey of quite some time. On his tombstone are the words " F aithful To Every Duty" , these are two reasons why the epitath was appropiate.

Individual note:   Polly Ann Seaton Coppock in a letter written to her daughter Cora sometime in the 1920's stat ed that Aaron had married again in December 1875 and died the next month.

Individual note:   On 18 Aug 1888 Olive signed a power of attorney to a lawyer's representing her in her claim b efore The Southern Claims Commission. She was seeking compensation for goods taken from her b y Union forces on 4 May 1864. They were retreating from the battle at Jenkins Ferry near Leol a,Grant County Arkansas and took all her livestock and supplies. Claim # 5730, Congress refer ence # 5203. The claim was denied.

Individual note:   Nancy was a widow when she married Henry. It is not known if the Seaton she married first w as a brother of Henry or perhaps a cousin.

Individual note:   From the minutes of New Hope Monthly Meeting of the Quaker Church in Greene County Tennessee ; 31 Dec 1796 Received on certificate from Bush River MM of Newberry County South Carolina . Certificate was issued on 29 Oct 1796.

On 9 Feb 1797 Aaron's marriage to Margaret Tucker was recorded.

26 Aug 1803 Aaron was choosen as overseer of church; 18 Jun 1808 was made a Minister.

17 Nov 1817 Aaron and family granted certificate to Newberry MM in Blount County Tennessee.

Individual note:   John and Margaret's marriage certificate.

WHEREAS John Coppock son of Aaron Coppock of the Township of East Nottingham in ye County o f Chester & Province of Pennsylvania, deceased, AND Margaret Coulson daughter of Joseph Couls on & Martha his wife, of Germantown, in ye County of Philadelphia & Province afore said, Havi ng declared their Intentions of Marriage, with each other. Before several Monthly Meetings o f ye Christian People called Quakers, in Nottingham afore said, & having consent of those con cerned, their said proposal of Marriage, after Deliberate ConSideration They appearing clea r of all others, were approved of by said Meeting. THERE therefore may Certify, whom it may c oncern yet for the full accomplishing their said Intention this Sixteenth Day of the first mo nth usually called March in ye Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred & thirty one. The y ye said John Coppock & Margaret Coulson, appeared in a public meeting of ye said people an d others, for ye purpose assembled att their Public Meeting Place in West Nottingham in ye C ounty afore said, AND ye sd. John Coppock taking ye sd. Margaret Coulson by ye hand, Did in s olemn manner, openly declare he took her to be his wife, promising through the Lord's assista nce to be unto her a loving and faithful Husband untill it should please the Lord by Death t o seperate them.

AND then and there in ye said assembly ye sd. Margaret Coulson, Did in like manner Declare y e she took him the sd. John Coppock to be her Husband, promising through the Lords assistanc e to be unto him a loving and faithful wife, until it should please the Lord by Death to Sepe rate them.

MOREOVER ye the said John Coppock & Margaret Coulson (she according to ye custom of marriag e assumeing the name of her Husband's sir name) did as a further Confirmation thereof then an d there to these presents set their hands as Husband and Wife,
