ALLEN

John Allen Sr married a Daniel (Nancy, sister of Nehemiah), 
lived on Laurel at Britt Allen place.

Sons:
Cary, ("Car")          m. Laverty, sister of Ralph
Nick	               m. Ellen Caperton		
		       Buried at old McGraw place near 					
                       the McGraw's


John Jr                m Bettie Lavetry
Britt                  m. Frankie Peach	sister of Wm.

Names of daughters not remembered but Eunice - she never 
married-had son named James who married Louise Cook, 
dau (of) Russell, son of David. James left wife who later 
married Mose Wesley. (Russell Cook, confederate 	
soldier- killed in war)

"Car" Allen lived halfway between mouth of Trough Fork 
and Pine Grove Church where Jim Gentry now lives - 
where Job McGraw first lived. Ned Massey lives at the 
mouth of old House Branch just above the mouth of Trough 
Fork.

Car had daughters, Harriet, Betsy and Nancy. Harriet 
married Jim Laverty, Betsy never married, Nancy married 
Henderson Acord.

Nick had son, Albert, and probably other sons, but no 
daughters. Albert married a Gunnoe, lived on Little White 
Oak. Children: Nancy, who married Floyd McMillan, John, 
Charles, and Grant.

Britt's children
Sons: Riley, Price, and Andrew
Daus: Sarah Jane m. Joel Daniel, Louise m. Marshall Paul, 
one married Bobby Stewart, one married Jim Lambert.



John Allen, Jr married Betty Laverty
Children: Jack, Perry, Larken, ? (Frenlay), Mary Ann, 
Nancy, Roxie, who married respectively...Floyd Massey, 
Lish McComas, son of Burrell and Ethan Bailey.

Betty Lavetry had 3 girls before she married Allen; 
Rene, Julia, and Drusilla. Julia m. Bill McMillon; Rene 
lived with Goodall Daniel; Dru never married but had 
children; Alex, Goodall, James Floyd, Frankie and Nancy 
by stepfather, John Allen and one by son-in-law, John 
Blankenship. Floyd died young.


John Allen was captured by Yankees during Civil War, 
got to Walnut Gap, told him to ran, when he did so, 
Ralph (Rafe) Laverty shot him dead. Laid on ground 
several days.
