Also, my black man, Peter and black woman Rede and her three male children, Charles, William and Arch. Dau:Betsy - to have black girl, Nancy. Each of my single daus: (not named). Two sons- in-law: Samuel Burner, Senior and Samuel Burner, Junior. Exors: David Stickly and son, John Stover Wit: Samuel Gardner, Jonas Grabill, Joseph Stover and Jacob Bauserman Dated: 6 Jan 1816 Proved :13 Jan 1817 Will Book L - page 280 JOHN STOVER, Shenandoah County. Wife: Barbara - land wheron I now live containing 673 acres. Also, one third of the estate of my brother, Joseph Stover (dec'd) which I am entitled, also, four negro boys and two negro girls. Dau: Frainey. Grandchildren: Philip and Marilla, children of my son Joseph Stover (dec'd). Dau-in-law: Elizabeth Stover, widow of my said son, Joseph. Mentions: Jacob Ott appointed trustee for my said dau. Franey and guardian of grandchildren, Philip and Marilla. Mentions: one half acre which I have given for a school house (which is built) Exor: Jacob Ott Wit: P. Williams, David Stickley and John Stover Dated: 12 Dec. 1820 Proved: 12 Feb 1824 (p219) Will Book L - page 161 JOSEPH STOVER, Shenandoah County. Brothers:Jacob Stover:John Stover; Christian Stover. Mentions: Jacob Kershwiler (my sister Catharine's son). Sisters: Ann Stickley and Regina Stover. (PART OF WILL MISSING) Exors: John Croudson and John Stover Wit: Samuel Mills, Peter Snapp and Jacob Conrad Dated: 7 June 1788 13 Dec. 1819 - A writing purporting to be last Will and Testament of Joseph Stover, dec'd, was produced into Court by George Hupp who intermarried with Catharine Spengler, who was a dau of Regina Spengler, now dec'd., who was a sister of the dec'd. Joseph Stover and having heard some testimony and opposition thereto by Elizabeth Stover, widow and relick of the dec'd., on motion of the said Elizabeth Stover. The Court doth appoint Anthony Spengler to collect and preserve the Estate of said dec'd. 10 Jan 1820 - This matter being continued over from the last Court. It is proved by the oath of Philip Williams that the said Will is the handwriting of Samuel Mills, and that he believes the signature of said Stover to have been writted by himself and that the said Mills appears to have signed his name as a witness bveing well aquainted with said Mills and Stover and further that the said Mills and Peter Snapp who appears to be another witness are dead. And further proved by oath of Philip Spengler who also testified to the handwriting of Joseph Stover, Samuel Mills and Jacob Conrad. The Law directs Elizabeth Stover, widow of the dec'd. having relinquished her right. Will Book E - page 308 PETER STOVER, Shenandoah County. Wife:Frainey Stover. Son: Jacob Stover - all that plantation deeded (170 acres). Son: John Stover - plantation on Narrow Passage containing 673 acres. Son: Christian Stover - Lotts #1,2,3,82,83,84,85 and 98 in town of Strawsburg. Son: Joseph Stover - remainder Lotts (in and out lotts) town of Strasburg. Daus:Elizabaeth Spengler (dec'd); Ann Stickler; Catharine________; Regina Spengler. Mentions: Peter Stover and Joseph Stover. Exors: Son, Joseph Stover and Philip Spengler Wit: Alexander Hite, Thomas Nowell and _________(Ger.) Dated: 8 Aug 1795 Proved: 10 Sept. 1799
