Henry Stover

For the name of God Amen. I Henry Stover of Franklin County, am sick and weak in body though of perfect mind and memory. Thanks to be given unto God for his mercies calling to mind the mortality of man and that it is appointed for all men once to die. I do make and ordain this last will and testament. First of all and principally I recomand my soul in the hands of All Mighty God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian manner. Touching these worldly things wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I dispose them off in manner following:- First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, ANNA peaceable possession in the house wherein I now live during her life time. Also one cow, her choice among my other cattle, her own bed, also ten bushels of good wheat and one hundred and fifty pounds nourishabable pork and ten pound hackled flour, and one gallon whiskey and fire wood brought to her door during her lifetime out of my estate yearly, (Also the above mentioned cow is the found for her in pasture and in other food yearly item. I give ro my son JOHN all my lands which I possess and all my other moveable stocks, to him and his heirs forever. (Provided always and particular in this case) that he shall pay all my just debts in one year time after my decease and as my two sons CHRISTIAN and HENRY are not capable to provide for themselves, he shall find for them sufficient house room and clothing and other needful services as long as they live, and they shall help him to work as long as they are able and he my son JOHN shall pay out of my estate, to each of my other four children, namely, JACOB, MARY, MAGDALENA, and CHRISTINA, Twenty Shillings to each within ten years after my decease and I appoint my beloved friends, JACOB GINGRY and THOMAS PAYNE to be my lawful executors of this my last Will and Testament and I hereby over throw all Wills here before made by me. Declaring this to be my last Will and Testament and no other where unto then set my hand and seal this the eleventh day of January 1798. Signed, sealed and delivered by me HENRY STOVER as his last Will and Testament inthe presence of us, NICHOLAS TEAL and PERCILLA TEAL. Proved in February 1798.
