SAYS SIDNA ALLEN
FIRED SECOND SHOT
Former Judge Bolen, of Carroll County,
First of Five Witnesses Examined
In Trial at Wytheville.
Wytheville, Va., Dec. 3. --Delay in the proceedings of the trial of Sidna Allen, for the murder of Wm. M. Foster, prosecuting attorney of Carroll county, in the court house shooting affray at Hillsville, occurred today, when the presiding judge, the jury and the attorneys in the case escorted the remains of J. D. Seifert to the train. Seifert dropped dead yesterday after having been excused from jury duty.
The first witness examined today was ex-Judge Bolen, of Carroll county. He stated that Floyd Allen, now under sentence of death, fired the first shot, and that Sidna Allen fired the second shot. On cross-examination he stated that of the four brothers of Floyd Allen, Sidna was the only one in the court room. This was brought out by the defense in an attempt to disprove the charge of conspiracy made by the prosecution. There were five other witnesses examined. The prisoner is showing the strain of the trial and today took sick, delaying the proceedings.
