Daniel Is Taken By Death Prominent Resident Dies At Saxon Home After Illness of Two Years Funeral Set Today Edward H. Daniel, a prominent retired farmer; a member of a widely known family and a pioneer citizen of Raleigh county, where he was born 75 years ago, died at his Saxon home Saturday night shortly after 10 o'clock. He had been ailing for two years. Death was attributed to complications due to his advanced age. Mr. Daniel was widely known in the community in which he lived his entire life. For many years he was engaged in farming. Since his retirement some years ago he has lived quietly at his home but retained a lively interest in community affairs. He was a brother of Dr. G. P. Daniel, of Glen Daniel. Other surviving near relatives are the widow, Mrs. Julia Daniel, and nine sons. They are Lay Daniel, of Saxon, R. S. Daniel, of Metalton; Emmet Daniel, Glen Rogers; S. L. Daniel and O. C. Daniel, of Sophia; E. E. Daniel, Jesse Daniel, and A. H. Daniel, all of Saxon; and G. P. Daniel of Arnett, surviving brothers are, Dr. G. P. Daniel, Glen Daniel; L. M. Daniel, Saxon, and Albert Daniel, of Wallowas, Oregon. Funeral services will be held from the residence at Saxon this afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. H. I. Cook, of Sophia, Rev. Grant Stevens, of Saxon and Rev. White of Saxon officiating. Burial, with Calfee Undertakers in charge of arrangements, will be made in the family cemetery. Submitted by:
